If you’re looking to increase intuition, one of the fastest and best ways is to upgrade the quality of food that you eat.
The overall rule of thumb is that any food that clogs our physical bodies also clogs our emotional, mental and spiritual bodies. So the purer the food you eat, the better your intuitive ‘connection’.
Some general principles
Eat organic
Chemicals clog all of our bodies: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. So go for organic as much as you can. Pesticides in particular are intuition ‘blockers’ and are best avoided where possible.
Eat fresh, raw (uncooked) foods
Eating fresh food is a very powerful way to increase intuition. It’s a bit like getting fibre optic broadband rather than dialup (I never thought I’d be using a tech reference!) But it’s a great analogy.
Because the life-force in food is what increases our psychic energy, you want to prioritize food that is as ‘alive’ as possible. The less psychically sensitive you are, the more you’ll probably find that eating raw, unprocessed foods will help you.
Raw food is defined as any food that has not been heated to above 115 degrees Fahrenheit (46 degrees Celsius). So this doesn’t necessarily mean carrot sticks and salads – all it means is that the food has not been heated excessively.
Dishes can be marinated, chopped, blended, juiced, fermented (think wine, kombucha, sauerkraut) or dehydrated till crunchy (think kale chips, sprouted crackers, crunchy granola cereal).
Try to include a variety of colors in the fresh foods that you eat, so that you’re getting all of the different phytonutrients that are present in each color. Food comes in different colors not only because it’s beautiful!
Some foods that are known to be especially good to increase intuition
- Fresh pineapple. Pineapple nourishes the pineal gland, thereby helping us visualise.
- Almonds. Raw almonds are an excellent source of vitamin E, protein and calcium, all of which are absorbed by the endocrine glands and help bring clarity to our intuition.
- Leafy green vegetables. These are not only amazing foods for the brain and our overall health, but they are also linked to helping with clairvoyance and our third eye connection.
A note of caution
If you’re already fairly sensitive, you need to know that eating a raw vegan diet is like turbo-charging your intuition, which isn’t suitable for everyone. I find that when I live in a big city, I have to have more grounding foods (see below).
Grounding foods
Grounding foods are foods that we might eat temporarily when we feel we need a bit less ‘input’. You could use meat to ground yourself, but it lowers your vibration quite a bit and it isn’t suitable if you’re vegetarian or vegan.
My favorite grounding foods are starchy foods such as whole grains. And if you love potatoes, know that potatoes lower our vibration as well, but not as much as meat. If you’re not vegan, you can also try eggs.
Cheese is also grounding, but it’s very clogging, and not suitable if you’re vegan.
When you’re in need of grounding, experiment to see which foods work best for you.
Foods to avoid
The following are to be avoided because they lower our vibratory rate. They also interfere with our bodies in all kinds of other ways, particularly with our brains.
Meat, especially red meat
Meat lowers our overall vibration and dulls our senses. If you really feel you need meat, at the very least buy organic, free-range (you don’t want to absorb the vibrations of an animal that has been stressed by being kept in awful conditions!)
Stick to lighter meats such as poultry or fish (but avoid fish that has high levels of mercury, such as tuna and swordfish).
Additives, flavor enhancers and artificial sweeteners
Artificial flavors, sweeteners, enumbers, chemical flavor enhancers and other additives have no place on our plate (including MSG, which has been known to trigger headaches and other allergic reactions, and the preservative sodium benzoate).
Try to avoid ready meals (especially frozen ones like pizza), chips and crisps, candy, soda and many processed meats.
Sugar
Some experts believe that sugar strips the body of vitamins, enzymes and minerals that help to stabilize mood. But sugar also weakens our aura, and it wreaks havoc with our blood sugar levels.
If you know someone who can see auras, you can experiment with this: have them look at your aura before and after you’ve eaten a sugary snack, and you’ll see what I mean! (Or rather, they’ll see 🙂 ).
The best alternatives to sugar
There are plenty of alternatives to sugar: dates, coconut palm sugar, xylitol, stevia, maple syrup or honey. And use them sparingly – the best choice being dates.
If you need a liquid sweetener, soak some dates until soft (an hour or so in warm water should do the trick) and blend them with some water to make your own date syrup. Store it in a glass jar in the refrigerator and use as needed. It should keep for up to three weeks.
If you want to increase intuition quickly
In addition to following the guidelines above, you can fast for one day a week, or even a few days at a time if fasting isn’t new to you.
Just be sure to get adequate amounts of water, even if you’re juice fasting.
